As an American, I would love to see a more accurate depiction of Cleopatra that does not stop at the whole white versus black narrative. I think modern dialogue focuses too much on ethnicity and race. We tend to forget it was not necessarily so for our ancestors as modern borders and the concept of race was not the way we see it today. Still today, people are in diaspora and globalization allows colonization, migration and uprooted communities.... no matter what, there will be the argument on what Cleopatra or ancient egyptians in general actually looked like as many people passed through the kingdom over the centuries and as such, many people take on aspects of the heritage, whether it be dna, religion, or culture as others pass through
